Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson of Rush are being honoured with the Lee Lifeson Art Park to open in Willowdale later this summer. Both of them lived in Willowdale and went to Earl Haig School. The park is being designed as an area, which will encourage tranquil creativity. Any performances will be quiet and designed only for small audiences. The Lee Lifeson Art Park is east of Doris Avenue between Princess and Hillcrest Avenues along the linear Willowdale Park. This park is another example of the benefits of the condominium development along Yonge and Doris since developers had to place monies aside to fund green space in exchange for additional air space.

Rush is s a Canadian rock band formed in August 1968 in Willowdale. The band is composed of bassist, keyboardist, and lead vocalist Geddy Lee; guitarist and backing vocalist Alex Lifeson; and drummer John Rutsey.

Rush has sold in excess of 40 million albums/CDs worldwide and has been awarded gold, platinum, and multi-platinum albums.
